Home of Splish Splash Water Park, Swan Lake Golf Course, Skydive Long Island, a shooting range and in close proximity to the NASCAR’s Riverhead Raceway, Calverton offers an activity for any interest. Calverton’s wide variety of activities and interesting history are complimented by its many fine-dining opportunities, both upscale and family-friendly.
Calverton’s military ties make it an ideal place for historians or military enthusiasts to visit. The nation’s busiest national cemetery, the Calverton National Cemetery, is located here. The weapons and airplane manufacturer Grumman, now known as Northrop Grumman, tested aircraft and weapons in Calverton until its acquisition by Northrop in 1996. The community is still deciding what to do with the land formerly occupied by Grumman, but it will surely be something in line with Calverton’s active and diverse options.
